New Delhi: Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has completed the evaluation process for CBSE 10th 12th Board Results 2019. As per the official update, CBSE 12th Result 2019 would be released in the month of May – most likely by third week. As for CBSE 10th Result 2019, the date as per the official notification is first week of June. Results would be released on cbseresults.nic.in. Ahead of the results, the moderation process and passing criteria are explained below.

Starting with Moderation, students and parents are informed that CBSE has not shared any new criteria on Moderation policy. Moderation refers to normalizing the score based on the overall difficulty level of the examination – especially in case of discrepancy in the different questions in variant sets of question paper. The board has confirmed that it would be awarding grace marks but is moot on the moderation policy decision.

As for passing criteria, for CBSE Class 12 board examination, candidates are required to score a minimum of 33 per cent marks in practical and theory papers. This criteria was revised for class 10 students. As per the board, class 10 students are required to score a total of 33 percent marks in theory and practical (internal assessment) combined.

This change in the passing criteria for class 10 results was introduced last year by the board as a one-time exemption. After due deliberation and recommendations from various stakeholders, the board decided to make it permanent for class 10 students.
